Greeting from The Director
GREETING
”Food, clothing and shelter” are the foundation of life and indispensable for our survival. Center for Fiber and Textile Science(CFTS) is a center for the science of fibers, the source of “clothing". It was established in 2006 as an independent organization for the purpose of organizing education and research in the field of textile science in cooperation with various educational and research organizations of Kyoto Insutitute of Technology(KIT). In 2015, “Academic Field of Fiber Science and Engineering” was organized as a textile-related educational organization, and “Faculty of Fiber Science and Engineering” was organized as a research organization. CFTS will work closely with these organizations to create new value for textiles and people by fusing with the world, Kyoto, and various other fields, while taking over the knowledge and skills in textiles that KIT has accumulated over the years.

テキスタイルのサスティナブルマネジメントテクノロジー2025
京都工芸繊維大学と信州大学との連携により社会人向け教育公開講座として「テキスタイルのサステナブルマネジメントとテクノロジー」を開講いたします
本プログラムでは繊維に携わる方からサステナブル社会を考えたい方を対象にマネジメントの国際化とテクノロジーの視点からサステナブルテキスタイルの未来について学びます
サステナブルテキスタイル製造の体系的な知識を修得し、新しいサステナブルテキスタイルの設計が出来るようになることを目標にしています
京の知恵新価値創造講演会
京都工芸繊維大学繊維科学センターと（地独）京都市産業技術研究所とは，「研究等連携に関する覚書（平成22年9月3日締結・平成２７年４月１日再締結）」第２条に基づく技術交流及び研究交流により，毎年研究発表会を開催してまいりました。
令和3年度から、今までの企画内容を一新し、京都が持つ「知」と「技」を活用して、京都工芸繊維大学繊維科学センター及び（地独）京都市産業技術研究所が、地域社会や地場企業と連携することにより、持続可能な繊維科学の発展に貢献するための新たな価値創造に関わる内容として、より身近に、より多くの皆様方に参加していただけるような講演会として企画いたしました
The 9th Osaka District Lecture Meeting
人工知能（AI）をはじめとしたデータサイエンスは現在の多様な分野で注目されており、その効果が喧伝されています。工業製品の製造現場においても設計・工程管理・品質管理などの多工程において適用の検討が進んでいます。これらの技術を製造現場に導入することが製造の効率をあげることが期待されているのみではなく、エネルギー効率を上げ無駄をなくすことで結果的に環境負荷を小さくする効果も期待できます。繊維分野においては同様の効果が期待でき、データサイエンスの有用性が報告されています。そのため、繊維産業のイノベーションを考える上で人工知能の活用は考えざるを得ない状況であると思われます。
このような状況を鑑みて、第９回大阪地区講演会では、データサイエンスの活用による繊維技術のイノベーションについて考える講演会といたしました。本学のメンバーによる研究成果の紹介に加えて、産業界のDX活用についての特別講演、イノベーションに関する講演を企画いたしました。皆様の積極的なご参加をお待ちしております。
